Six new symptoms of covid-19

The centers for disease control and prevention (C.D.C.) has added six new possible symptoms for the novel corona virus infection.
  1. Chills
  2. Repeated shaking with chills
  3. Muscle pain
  4. Headache
  5. Sore throat
  6. New loss of taste or smell

Before this fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing was the three initial symptoms. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. According to CDC below mentioned two points are not considered as covid-19 symptoms:

Running nose rarely happens with COVID-19

Sneezing is still not a symptom according CDC

Further it has added that the list above mentioned is not all inclusive and one still needs to consult their medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning.

Let’s discuss what are the symptoms of covid-19 according to WHO

Common symptoms include:
  • Fever
  •  tiredness
  • Dry cough
Other symptoms include:
  • Shortness of breath
  • Aches and pains
  • Sore throat
  • And very few people will report diarrhea, nausea or a runny nose.

Ministry of health, India also follows the guidelines of WHO therefore the mentioned symptoms are same as by WHO.
